Dr. Memuna Williams is a strategic executive and award-winning leader with more than three decades of international experience advancing entrepreneurship, education, and social innovation. Her career spans building inclusive ecosystems, scaling youth and leadership development programs, and advising organizations across Africa, Europe, and North America.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of Empowering Sustainable Change (ESC), a mission-driven advisory firm specializing in SME growth, executive education, and thought leadership. She also serves as Co-Founder and Operations Lead of Champs for Change (C4C), a pan-African social enterprise reframing sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment and industry transformation. Through C4C, she co-produced two Amazon #1 bestselling books—Champs for Change and We Will Lead Africa: A Sports Volume—spotlighting 40 African sports professionals. The initiative, launched at the Basketball Africa League Finals, convened leaders from NBA Africa, McKinsey, and FIFA, and reached audiences worldwide.
Previously, Dr. Williams spearheaded the Social Equity Project at Junior Achievement Africa, the organization’s largest youth initiative, directly impacting over 60,000 underserved youth across seven countries and contributing to JA Africa’s expansion to more than one million young people continent-wide. Earlier in her career, she served as Head of Selection at the African Leadership Academy, identifying and enrolling more than 350 of Africa’s most promising young leaders, and as Chief Operating Officer of AIMP Network (Nigeria), where she strengthened values-based leadership programs and organizational sustainability.
Dr. Williams earned her Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, with research on corporate social responsibility in SMEs, and holds an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte. She also completed translation studies at Université de Montréal and Concordia University.
She brings extensive governance and strategy expertise, having served on numerous boards and advisory councils across trade and civil society sectors. She is an active member of the Academy of Management, USASBE, IABS, the International Leadership Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. A sought-after keynote speaker, lecturer, and mentor, she supports entrepreneurs globally through SCORE and other networks.
Dr. Williams is married to Victor Williams, and together they have three sons—Victor, Alex, and Arthur. She divides her time between Johannesburg, South Africa, and Washington, D.C., and has also lived in Europe, Canada, and across the United States. Fluent in French and Krio, Dr. Williams joined the Project2Morrow Board of Directors in 2025.
